(Lorna Gosnell, International Women's Discipleship Director):
I am so blessed to be third generation Church of God. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and raised in Western North Carolina from the age of one month until marrying my husband, David H. Gosnell in 1978. We have three children: Crista Barnes married to Joel of Eastern North Carolina; David C. married to Amanda of South Georgia; and Jonathan who is a traveling nurse, currently serving in San Diego, California. We have six grandchildren, Ava Grace, Ethan Joel, and Olivia Mae Barnes; and Ella Paige, Lexington Gray, and David Woodrow Gosnell.
My ministry has consisted of serving beside my husband while evangelizing in North Carolina and Arkansas for the first years of our marriage; pastoring in Eastern North Carolina; Malvern, Arkansas; and Springdale, Arkansas before beginning our ministry in state Youth and Discipleship work. For 22 years we served in the Midlands (Iowa/Nebraska); West Virginia; Kentucky; Eastern North Carolina; South Georgia and Tennessee. David and I returned to the Midlands where David was appointed to serve as Administrative Bishop and I was appointed to serve as Women’s Discipleship Director for four years. In 2010 we were both appointed to serve as Adult Discipleship Coordinators, with special emphasis for men and women respectively.
During the course of my ministry I have authored the International Girls Ministries program for our denomination three times, and have written for Engage, Evangel and various other publications.
It is a joy and honor to serve with my husband as Adult Discipleship Directors, and then to serve the women of our church as International Women’s Discipleship Director.
